My Normal Monday
Today was, of course, Monday. The most dreaded, hateful, spiteful, of all days. Back to school and as usual Algebra was fighting me in my mission for understanding tooth and nail. I'm so glad THAT'S over and I'm done speaking of it now. The rest of the week should be pretty busy. Tomorrow night I will have both my music and fencing classes. I'll have to get some money for the April class, and my mom's suggested I earn it myself, which I fully intend to work on. We did not end up going to miss Stephany's bridal shower, but it IS a Monday so nearly anything is justifiable. Grandma Kathy picked up Abigail and Katlyn for gymnastics which they have every Monday. Usually Bradley has it too but he was sick today so he had to miss. I asked Katlyn, as is becoming customary, to return and pick up some books for me from the library. It's so nice of grandma to swing by for me. But then again, it's so nice of anyone to do so many things for me these days, I get so busy and everyone pitches in help in one place or another to make sure I'm able to continue my fun. We ended up eating a Keisch tonight, and I made the crust for it. I'm typically the one who does this simpler cooking like biscuits, crusts and, recently, pita bread. Pita bread is soo fun to make! It always amazes me, new as I am, how they get the little pockets in the middle! Kate, always the curious one, is constantly asking me how to say things in spanish. I am taking spanish for school and she is and absolute lover of new things of any sort at all. Especially spanish it would seem, she was trying to find words in it before I began my learning of it, I've only convenienced her. Abbie is also showing interest, and the simplest words (at the moment all that I know) work them into utter excitement. Bicicleta, cocina, come, bebe, and one sentence, 'Soy madre es maneja el carro,' just make them jump with glee. Anyway, not much to write about tonight, probably as the week progresses I'll have more!
Brace Band Hate
I woke up this morning,
Was still half asleep,
Tried to do some yawning,
Could not make a peep.
My mouth wouldn't budge,
But I tried it again,
Then I thought 'Oh FUDGE!'
Attempt foiled AGAIN.
The nightmarish reality,
Is that, my friends,
My troubles were due,
To my STUPID BRACE BANDS!

Bridal Shower Surprise
Hopefully my first blog will be the most lame any of them get! Getting the first blog out of the way is definitely nice and the pressure is now gone! Today I went to church since I'm christian like that and my mom loves to get out of home studies when we can. This was our second time trying out this church and my dad even decided to accompany us this time. I wonder, as always, what he thought, but he's so silent about his thoughts and feelings (unless you directly inquire about them occasionally) that we never know what he's thinking! I had immediately recognized one of my previous friends in the church, who, in turn, introduced me to a ton of people! We really hit it off from the first time and several people stopped to say 'Hi', finally they just invited me to sit with them. So I sat in the front row with a bunch of teens, I, sadly only remembered a few of their names. Sydnee, my previous friend, and Mat, Taylor, Amy, Amber and Megan. But there were, of course, more. It was really great, when we started singing my friends coaxed me out of my seat to stand in front with them while singing. Today they actually had a Youth Chili Cook -Off. My mom had started some beans soaking so we could join the competition but we hadn't realized it was directly after church and we had to get home to my sister, Lexie, who was sick and watching my brothers, Bradley and Sam. Plus my baby sister, Lily, probably would've began to have a fit! So mom, dad, Kate, Abbie, Lily and I went home. Mom decided to make chili out of the beans anyway, and boy does it smell good! Later...So I left this blog for awhile. I went to Youth Group! Except when I was dropped off and walked into the back of the church I learned that Youth Group had been cancelled for that night! A funeral had just taken place and several adults were cleaning up. The pastor, Pastor Joe, was nice and after letting me use his phone to call my mom (to no avail, her ringer was off ) he made sure I got a ride home. After many decision switches it was decided I should ride home with a Youth Leader, Alicia and two girls Megan and Sassy after helping them set up for another Youth Leader, Stephany's bridal shower. The theme was Candy Land, like the game. We set out squares of colorful carpet pieces in paths, made candy decorations, streamers, tuelle and several other things. The hour we originally planned for was soon lost in the busy setting up and soon my mom came. Actually she came three hours after I'd arrived, the Youth Group pickup time. I had so much fun setting up! Megan. Sassy and Alicia were fun and funny. I was invited to come over the next day for the bridal shower. Maybe I will, if mom takes me. Most of the Youth girls are attending. But it's understandable if she doesn't, we've got a busy week! It includes a concert, my music and fencing classes, several field trips, a Teen April Fool's party and tons of other stuff! I can't wait to see the Easter play though on Easter if we end up being able to go!

First Blog
Hey peoples, my name is Halie, I'm homeschooled, have 8 siblings altogether, and my family is heeee-uggggggeee. No, I'm not pointing out the obvious immediate family, but I mean like my whole family! Other than that I guess you'll have to figure out on your own, slowly but surely. So today we took all of the kids and my puppy, Leah, (yes Twilight origin name) up to this big mountain for a homeschool meetup. A ton of people showed up and before long we were walking. Kids were everywhere and we followed a small stream. Yellow, blue, orange and white flowers were everywhere and the girls wouldn't quit picking them! We got to the top of the mediumish cliff (it depends on what kind of cliffs you're used to) and decided to go a little further - over the cliff - and then stop to take our picnic out. Little boys raced ahead, dangerously as adults tried, incessantly failing, to slow them down, keep them from the edges. The boys, heedless of both warnings and danger perched on the edge looking down. Of course. Might I point out that this is only the most typical boy behavior! The girls were careful enough and were a bit dully only interested in the wildflowers. They walked out with such big armfuls that my mom exclaimed "You're robbing Mother Nature!!" Dogs raced by excitedly and people snapped pictures with zillion dollar cameras of the natural beauty. Several people stopped simply to fly a kite. But they were amazing kites! Those 3D ones they make now. In any case the kids all slept all the way home, and even I joined, I had climbed up and down the cliff four times! But this was not the end of the kids' outdoor activities for the day, we dropped them off at grandma Kathy's house. Grandma Kathy lives only around the block from our house and you can count on some things whenever they go to her house.
1. She loves planting and growing things, her huge yard is filled with green, lush things. So she plants with the kids.
2. She loves to bake with the kids, especially around the holdays
3. She has a big tote of arts and crafts things so the kids always beg to use that
4. She's a sugaraholic (as is most everyone!) so the kids get spoiled rotten with sweets!
This particular day they had gone over specifically for the purpose of planting. I, as usual, was invited, but I was so tired I couldn't do it! I went home, took a nap and then got up and read my book, Right now I'm reading Lord of the Rings 1 by suggestion of some friends. I also made some granny squares. Yeah I know - GRANNY SQUARES??? Well I'm making them for a good cause. They're for and anti abortion help center and we're making blankets for women's babies. Anyway I'm way too tired for more tonight! Going to sleep!
