And I'll Be Your Cryin' Shoulder!

I so love that song! Unfortunately the only thing I can remember every time I hear it now is singing it horribly on Zach and Em's karoke game and Lex and Zach laughing, I think I may be partly why Lex wouldn't sing! Still, not even that can foil my love of the song. Today I stayed at home with Lex and the younger kids except Sam, who mom was taking to a dentist's appointment for an apparently horrible toothache he's had lately. They were gone for HOURS! I later heard there were lots of complications and the Dentists were really unkind. Mom came home later than expected and by the time she got there Lex and I had cupcakes cooked and were frosting them. We dropped the kids off at grandma's and went to Legos. NO ONE was there! Not even Brenten! Even Brenten got to go to the Parkour meeting! And I went into 24 hours practical pouting depression! It sucks. Majorly. How about that one Zach? ISM? LOL. So Lex and I waited. And waited. And helped set up. And finally Brenten, Derek, Andrew, and Robynn filed in together. They smelled like sunshine and grass. I was very, very, very jealous. I wouldn't have been able to do Parkour anyways though, I was wearing a dress, courtesy of my mother and Lex's shopping trip the other day. Instead of "A new shirt" I got about 4 new shirts and a dress. Go figure. Shortly after Ben arrived and then Miss Heidi and her husband and son. They brought out the camera which Heidi's son, Carl was operating and Heidi began asking questions. We talked over several things, I think I sweated my palms off and in the end we got to ask THEM questions! Plus who doesn't like chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting? I'll tell you, 1 - people allergic to chocolate and 2 - lunatics. Oh yeah and then Heidi and her family apparently :(. They left after awhile and we got to our final decision on the project. In the end it was pretty much unanimous to do a watch and smartphone app with bluetooth. Brenten still doesn't like the whole barcode scanner thing, and I don't get it anymore. He'll get over it. Squirt get over it already. After after ( Yes quote from Karate Kid!) Brenten and Derek left to go check something out and we got in the car. While driving out they were both obviously cracking their knuckles - think I offended them in some way?? Probably not, my friends just like toturing me like that. If you don't know that and aren't my friend get off my blog stalker. And also Brenten was concerned - if anyone thought Brenten was asthmatic from my past comments, he's not. Thanks you. Yes ThankSS you. So we went home and Grandma Lorri was there with the kids. We hung out with grandma Lorri awhile and talked. Not much else. Today Sam had to get a second Dentist's appointment since the other guys messed up big time. I got Language and History done for the week. We made tons and tons of pumpkin muffins. Mom made a bunch of batter and we just kept switching them in the oven after she'd left. LOTS of muffins. They were soo good. I want more for breakfast tomorrow. I tried some more at the pk roll. I want to figure out what's next, the rolls aren't very difficult so I wonder if I'm doing something wrong but I also skipped the falling lesson... Didn't know how to teach myself. I watched a vid tutorial on pk rolls... several times. I'm going to have to research whatever's next. OH GUESS WHAT?!?! I've been bugging my mom this week - I want to try Martial Arts. AND tonight mom said as soon as Legos is over I can do it! Martial Arts! Hurray hurrah! I'm excited out of my mind. Although frightened that I'll have to do countdowns... But who cares if I get to learn that! I think it will be better for me than fencing - I think I might be better with my hands than a sword, instead of just IMAGINING the sword is an extension of you hand why not just use.. Your hand? lol idk I'll just have to try it out! I'm excited out of my mind! Laterz

Negative One Hundred Fifteen Green Bottles Hanging On The Wall...

Yes that song has been in my head today, every time I get bored or annoyed - "Ten green bottles hanging on the wall..." My mom finally told me to stop humming! Today Alexis and I went to meet with our new ES Mrs. Ward. Originally the plan had been to meet at the library, much to my dismay it was changed at the last minute to Starbucks. Pure torture. I love the library, but anyone I know could tell you I'm less than fond of coffee. It was Lexie's dream come true. We went over our schoolbooks and decided how we should do them now. Lex got some caramel frappuccino, or whatever it is she likes to drink. While I was going over my books my mom asked "Want something?" "If you can get something without coffee." I didn't expect her to find something without coffee at Starbucks, but she got me a smoothie. The meeting was much less draining mentally with our new ES, she didn't try to explain everything to me I already knew, and was fun to work with. Well as fun as school can be that is. Then we went to some other store where my mom decided to cancel music lessons. Major bummer. But I guess I haven't practiced as much as I should have anyway. And no Parkour meet for me either. Darn! I still get Legos though. I'll enjoy that. And I just watched a tutorial on a pk roll, so maybe I can work on that. Good night for now though! yawn! Laterz

Cheese is Good! Cheese is Nice! In a Spread or By the Slice!

Let's love cheese and hamsters too! Cheese, cheese, cheese! This morning I woke up late. That's a good way to start any day right? Except Madison didn't! She woke up at like 6 AM and didn't even get me up! I was, again, sleeping on the ground between mine and Alexis' beds because I gave Maddi my bed, so really I should be glad she didn't wake me up by stepping on my head... But still. By the time I woke up she was dressed (in a football jersey - guess I was really out of the loop because apparently Sunday is game day which EVERYONE watches... ) We talked and we ate sugar-filled, sooo bad-for-you, Pop Tarts for breakfast. We have quite the abundance of those now, no complaining about that! Apparently they were originally bought for the Teen Camp Out, but we had some participants adamant about cooking over the campfire. Anyways, Maddi was pretty down. I could tell she wanted to stay, and that would've been awesome. But no. Wa. We played Ninja, of course and also learned that my close friends boy-girl ratio is about 2-1. She thought that was pretty funny. In case you didn't catch on - the guys were the larger party in this reduced ratio. So now Mom took Maddi, Lex and Sam, she's dropping off Maddi, picking up Abbie, picking up Grandma Babara and going shopping. It's actually kind of a relief to me that I'm not included in this one. I've learned my lesson. Shopping trips = tediously long walks and monotony. So those three get their shopping trip and I get a new shirt apparently, I wonder what they'll buy me? *Wince*. Oh another thing I learned this morning! There was a Weird Al Show! Niice! Oh yeah and humiliatingly that stupid nickname app decided to automatically post my results, which were embarrassingly "Cupcake". I'll never live that one down as far as Tori's concerned. She got lucky and got "Skittles". Skittles so beats Cupcake into the ground with a mallot. BTW the warning still stands - if ANYONE calls me Cupcake, nonvirtually or virtually I will not hesitate to inflict injury! They will find out exactly what my elbows feel like in their back. Luckily for Madison I didn't find the cheese song until she left, or find out about the Weird Al Show. :)). Now there's just one thing I'm left to wonder - How did Zach's baptism go? Why yes my mind is going 5 directions a minute - Squirrel! Okay guys, I know I'm boring you because I'm boring myself, I'll go find something else to do. Laterz!

GAME ON!!

Yesterday we were dying with anticipation until we went to the Ranch. We set up tents, rolled out sleeping bags and called first dibs on the best chairs (Which, by the way were ignored). Next to arrive were the Laws, also driving Loren Pratt, Savannah, and Marissa. There were three tents and about 7 people on the Girls' side. Madison, Lexie, Savannah, Marissa and I slept in the largest tent. Robynn and Loren slept in another and I guess the other was empty because we'd originally intended it to be for the moms, who spur of the moment - ly decided to sleep under the stars. Just when we were complaining over the heat, and discussing how late the others were and how likely it was that we could start a fire with a magnifying glass a big parade of cars pulled up. The Fillmores, Ewens, and two newbies, Nathan and Caleb. Mom, Lex, Savannah, Marissa and Maddi went to get chairs from the shed and apparently discovered some spiders in them because they all suddenly began squealing and threw down their chairs in the middle of the road. I ran over only to find it was only spiders that was worrying them. This, of course, provoked the spider story again which ended in "And Halie just laid down on the ground!" Then I carried the chair back on which the spider had been discovered. They told me a spider had crawled up my shoe, but I ignored it and I wasn't bit or anything so frankly I don't care whether or not there was one. Then a short while later Courtney and Trenton arrived. And the activities began. We built a fire ring from bricks and the guys set up a tent on their side. Brenten and Taylor were wearing their camo, despite the obvious ban on airsoft, which they didn't bring any of, but still brought the camo :)). Brenten, Caleb and I got out of sitting under this sweltering tarp by looking for some more chairs to sit on around the fire. The guys started to try and put up the solar oven but majorly failed, at which point Mrs. Fillmore pulled out the oh-so-convenient instructions they'd neglected to notice and Madison and I began, well, instructing, and assisting in the building. It never got as hot as we'd hoped. We played several games, including one of the most heated and popular including torches. The boys' side and the girls' side each had four torches. Each person had to try and take torches from the other side, but if you were spotted while in the act of removing the torch from the ground you had to put it back. By morning the team with the most torches was supposed to win. This was a very heated game, especially since the younger girls, Robynn and Loren would playfully take the torches and admittedly half the time I doubt whether their steals were legal. But the boys got very competitive and worked up over it, especially Brenten, since apparently he'd made up the game and many of the rules had been changed by his mom. Then we tried water purification, (not the best results) and Mrs. Fillmore strung up the fence so we could play another game. There were several holes created by the string and we had to get our whole team through the fence without touching the wood of the fence, but we could only use each hole twice. Strings were broken, acrobatics were completed and I personally lifted Loren and Alexis though a higher hole. It was no simple task - some of the holes were miniscule! We paddled out on the lake, played "As the Great Wind Blows", and were sent looking for various vague descriptions of objects. For instance I was sent to find "Something slippery" and I simply wet a rock and brought it back. Maddi got "Something that feels meaningless", and brought back what I think was one of the many annoying seeds from a tree, when asked "What is it?" she replied "I don't know." We all sat down together and put together a poem, every person was to write one line of the poem, consisting of at least five words, and you could only see what the last person had written - no one else's. Robynn wrote "Boys cheat all day long," which Maddi followed up with "And some may even sing a song!" Once the poem was read out, when it came to my line there was burst of laughter - half because some people were thinking "WHAT?!?!" and half because some people actually got the inside joke, my line was "It'll be fine, just wash it." Then we ate, our watchers - the guards of the torches were scared to leave their posts so we took turns getting up to get our food, and since we were cooking hot dogs over the campfire and I was concerned over the torches I ended up with a hot dog that was cold in the middle. Let me just say - I am SO GLAD those things are pre-cooked. ;). Well the torches game only got more and more heated and soon there were altogether too many shouts of "THAT'S NOT FAIR! THEY HAVE TO PUT THOSE BACK BECAUSE ______!!" Anyways there was a TON of Ninja playing. Originally it was my plan to get the boys away from their torches, and only partly because I actually wanted to play. About 5 of us girls got into the mutual boy/girl hang out ground and screamed at the top of our lungs, "ONE! TWO! THREE! NINJA!!" "Oh real discreet!" said the guys, but as we ignored them and continued playing they were inevitably sucked in. And so was I. I just forgot about the torches, it was totally awesome! Trenton's pretty fun to play with too. I only wish Zach and Em had been there to play with us! We played and played and a few people, not completely filled with Ninja's addictive mindset kept their minds on the torches and worried about those, and sure, there was some stealing while we were playing, but I really didn't care anymore. Plus Robynn pretty much took over - anyone who went in the general direction of the house, which the girls' tents were closer to were screamed at "I SEE YOU!" whether they were being obvious or not. It was due to just this sort of obsessiveness that the game was cancelled, thus freeing us all to come to the campfire and make S'Mores. And boy were there ever some he UGE marshmallows! At first it was very tense, the boys were sore that the girls had 5 torches and they had 3, but eventually they succumbed to the merry song singing and laughing. Especially after Mr. Fillmore arrived and immediately set to work making us sing (making it enjoyable) and reading us some highly hilarious stories, in particular on about "Sequences". The stories explained a few things the Fillmores say like "Oregano!!" Very, very funny stories. After all of this it was very dark. So what was our first instinct?? To play Ninja!! We played and played, and the parents threatened to ban Ninja if they continued to hear what they described as 'thumps' and 'ouches'. The moonlight was actually pretty bright and it was perfect for playing Ninja! We tried some hide and go seek tag, which the parents called off before we'd even finnished one game, saying we needed to get in bed. So we did. Our tent in particular was very... giggly. We talked and played Ninja (I've now played Ninja in the pool, in a tent... etc.) We ( or I anyway) stayed up until about 1 AM. I needed SOME sleep after last night's two hour sleep and hysteria. The next morning we woke up to Savannah's alarm, she'd set it for 6 AM. We'd all agreed the night before that the torch game was competitive to the point of stupidity and no longer fun, so we had hoped that we could watch the boys steal our stakes, which we'd agreed to let them steal. The rules that had been given were the game would continue "As soon as the sun rises". The boys, however, one-upped us, they woke up at 4 AM and stole our stakes. In the evening the other girls (Not I, I slept like a rock) said they thought they heard some frightening noises, Maddi's sure it was the guys now. Apparently the guys slept outside, the only one who actually slept in the tent was Taylor. And Andrew had gone home the evening before with an earsplitting headache. We got dressed and went out to hang out by the (newly restarted?) fire. The boys were in much better spirits now that they had all 8 stakes and a little sleep. We played some more Ninja and eventually got around to telling the boys "You know, we'd already decided to drop out of that game, you didn't HAVE to wake up at 4. We wanted to watch you steal the stakes!" "Oh whatever." said Brenten, eyes red and face tired. We played a LOT of Ninja. Then breakfast was made, burritos with eggs, tater tots, and cheese cooked over the campfire. As well as some egg rolls that the solar oven had failed to cook. Lots of food was spilled. After breakfast many stories were shared, and Robynn caught a fish, thus making everyone automatically interested in fishing, but what are the odds that they were going to catch one right after that? Robynn had been there awhile.. Robynn went on to catch another fish eventually - everyone else? Nothing. I took a walk, originally with Maddi, but when she ditched me at the gate I kept walking, hoping she'd stay too. She didn't. I was turning back and to the barns when Marissa and Savannah came up the path, "What are you doing?" "Oh I was taking a walk... Maddi ditched me so I was just turning back, wanna come with me? We can walk to the end of this road." "Sure!" they agreed. And we did. Admittedly afterwards Madison felt bad about ditching me, and she was tired, I have reasoned, so I forgave her :)). But when we got back? It was so Ninja time! I sat and listened to stories for a little while but then after awhile Taylor came and sat on one side of me. Then Derek sat on my other. Maddi was across the fire and just about everyone else was fishing, or boating. "Wanna play Ninja?" asked Taylor quietly. "In a minute I said tiredly, not moving. One minute later. Taylor, "Wanna play Ninja?" Pause. Jumps up, "Okay!" Then Derek, Maddi, and Taylor were out of their chairs like... welll.. *Snaps* - that. I called over Marissa, Savannah and Lex, "Hey guys, wanna play Ninja?" What do you think their answer was? "YEAH!" We were pretty quiet about it, but even so once we were spotted with our hands in pre jumping out pose the others were there in a flash! We played and played and played and even Mr. Fillmore played! But then our parents announced it was cleanup time and we all started breaking camp. Grandma and Grandpa loved our teen group - apparently they weren't used to such well behaved teens - guess they didn't watch the whole time we were playing Ninja... Funny how every time an adult warned us about banning Ninja (which they did a lot) because of the thumps someone shouted "Halie's the one who uses elbows!!" Once they worded our possible Ninja banning as "Do you guys want to lose Ninja?" Everyone turned, mouths agape, how could they affect our winning or losing in Ninja?!?! But no, they meant getting it taken away. Anyways we ended up leaving STILL much too soon, but Maddi's at my house still which is totally sick, cuz we can play Ninja and other awesome games. I love Rocky Road and Rice Rice Baby were some Weird Al songs that were a hit with Maddi today. Hurray Hurrah. Oh and guess what else? If you've read this entire blog you deserve to know - October 16 airsoft and games day? CONFIRMED!! It's on!! HIGH FIVES!! Anyway more awesomeness from Maddi and I Laterz!

Maddi And Halie Here! Listening to Whatever You Like (Weird Al Style)

Heya everyone! Maddi's finally here! Which means mom figured out her car troubles! Yayyyy! Do you like popcorn? Or sugar? Root beer floats? You want it we'll get it just don't be a hater if I grab a bunch of napkins for later! Pizza party at your house I came just to check it out, 19 extra larges, what a shame no one came! Music is crazy right? Just listen t0 Weird Al's A Complcated Song. RINGTONE! Why'd I have to buy that stupid RINGTONE?! Everybody in the world really hates my ringtone! Warning to anyone buying this one! Your neighbors may very much dislike the song....Hide your Phone!! He's GUMP He's GUMP! He's GUMP! Dare to be stupid! Augh! Maddi's knuckle cracking! And guess what else? It's like 1 AM. Goooooddd morning everyone!! WOW YEAH! You got a '65 Chevy Malibu... CRRAAAAAIIIIIGGSLIST! I'M ON CRAIGSLIST BABY COME ON! Anther one rides the bus! Hey it's 1:11!! They say that money corrupts you but I can't really tell, I got the world at my feet and I think it's pretty swell - This is the life! My my this here Anakin guy, may be Vader some day later now he's just a small fry, and he left his home and kissed his mommy goodbye sayin "Soon I'm gonna be a Jedi!" Oh do you see him hitting on the queen though he's just nine and she's fourteen? Oh he's probably gonna marry her someday! Oh have you seen how fast his pod can go? And we were broke it's true so we made wager or two. He was a prepubescent flier and the minute Jabba started off that race well I knew who would win that race! Oh yes, it was our boy! And we started singing "Oh my my this here Anakin guy, may be Vader some day later, now he's just a small fry. Oh the counsel was impressed of course could he bring balance to the force? So they interviewed the kid, oh training they forbid, because Yoda sensed in him much fear, and Qui Gon said "Now listen here, I will train this boy so stick it in your pointy ear!" In the end some gungans died, some ships blew up and some pilots fried. My my this here Anakin guy, may be Vader some day later, now he's just a small fry. And the Jedi I admire the most met up with Darth Mal and he was toast, now I'm still here and he's a ghost, I guess I'll train this boy.... Anyways we really want to attend the Camp Out tomorrow so we'll go to bed and blog again tomorrow, but we want to be able to wake up... later today... ya know? Laterz!!

Since You been Gone It's Like I Got A Mouthful Of Cod Liver Oil

So today was pretty boring, lots of school, lots of waiting for it to be time for Maddi to be here and lots of obsessing over how awesome tomorrow's going to be. I got like 5 Literature Lessons finnished, they expect me to do like a lesson a day. I mean, language is great and everything, but seriously? Especially when I get into Poetry - I'm not good at appreciating poetry. Or stomaching Edgar Allen Poe, I've only read one of his stories and a short one at that and that was enough to make me go "WHAT? WHAT DID HE DO? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!" The kids decided to watch Rugrats. I haven't seen that show in forever! It never fails to remind me of my Aunt Allison, hmm how odd... :)). Anyways so Lex and I cleaned out our bedroom since Madison's coming over, you know, got rid of all the random unnecessary junk. Nothing against random unnecessary junk - it's just so... Unnecessary. And Lexie, driven mad by her spur of the moment and OCD ness decided to finally finnish the paint job in our bathroom. So I didn't finnish painting our bathroom okay? I did the front bathroom, and assisted with the girls', boys', and our own rooms and the hallway but I never got around to finnishing our bathroom. So Lexie got one of her wild hairs and pulled out the right color paint... and one of those tiny paint brushes that come in the little Crayola watercolor paint boxes... Sad. Yes, I think Lexie is officially insane. Crazily enough she got most of the edges (all that was left) done with the miniscule thing. And it was majorly funny. Oh my goodness the kids are watching Kipper! I strongly dislike Kipper! Holy Cow I just got news that both mom and the Dauenhauers are having car trouble! I'll update later, I have to get off now. Laterz

I Like That Old Time Rock And Roll!

Yesterday Lex and I recieved what is becoming the oh-so-familiar Saturday call asking if we'd like to go rafting. Of course we did! We did have to break important previous plans... shampooing our carpets! lol Just kidding. So we drove over to meet the Fillmores. Mr. Fillmore called us on my mom's cell while we were on our way over. It went something like this: "Answer it, Halie!" "What? No!" "Yes, just answer it, it's Mr. Fillmore!" "Ugh, fine... Hello?" "Hi, Tanya, this is Ryan. Are you guys almost here?" "Um, hi, it's Halie.. Yes we're on our way over." "Oh hi, Halie! You sounded just like your mom!..." etc, until the phone started cutting out, and after much amateur difficulty dropped his call. Anyways so we finally arrived and met up with Mr. Fillmore, Brenten, Brenna, Bryce, Claire and their Uncle Curtis. We started off at the area we stopped at last time we went rafting. Which means ROPE SWING!! Lex and I wore Wetsuits this time. Lexie had a heck of a time getting her full suit on, an enlisted the help of both Mr. Fillmore and myself. I was able to get my own on since I only wore a shortie. And so the swinging began! Then we went a little farther down the river and Mr. Fillmore drove us two at a time through the rapids on the raft. Once when Brenten and I were on the people on shore informed us upon arrival that "If you'd gone about 3 feet higher you would've tipped the raft!" We found a few more rope swings as we continued on, they were like, totally sick, yo. Lots of swimming, freezing, numbing, laughing, pushing, and grabbing of feet! We sang some Weird Al. We did some more STROKEs. At one point I announced, "You know what Em would say if she were here Brenten?" "Huh? What?" "Pink is your color." He was wearing a pink and black wetsuit. There you go Em, for you. :) When we got to the end of our rafting we played Ninja, Lexie, Brenten, Brenna, Bryce and I. I'm getting better I think, that or just mean and pain inflicting... I've begun using my elbows.... But every time I do it a voice in my head screams WHAT THE HECK DID YOU JUST DO? WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?!?! And then I feel really bad... But of course Brenten and I won about even. And I did some acrobatics freezing in positions I wouldn't enjoy revisiting anytime soon! Brenna was very upset when she got hit in the face accidentally by Brenten and her braces made her bleed. Claire was very sympathetic, plus I loved her accent :)). I'm a dork, I love accents like that. So we played more Ninja until Mr. Fillmore got back with the car and we all got in. We met my mom and Lex and I were picked up. Today was fairly boring other than my seeming inability to be contacted. I was not "Right back" when I told Brenten I would be.. I stopped to wash dishes, hang curtains, reassemble couch cushons and complain about computer problems until mom fixed the computer... hehe. Sorry Brenten. While washing dishes I borrowed Alexis' MP3 player and unfortunately Air 1 did not come in where I was standing... So I found some other station, almost every song they played I knew! Now I have tons of olderish songs fragments stuck in my head! Like "I like that old time rock and roll!" "I will go down with this ship! I won't put my hands up in surrender, there will be no white flag upon my dome..." "Red red wine!" "I got a pocket full of sunshine.." and MORE! I did get to talk to Emily though! Hurray Hurrah! Anyway, Laterz!

It'll be Fine, Just Wash It

This morning mom woke Lexie and I up and said "We're leaving in a half hour." We jumped out of bed, dressed and got in the car. Lex was worried about what to wear since we were going to Legos later, she was worried we'd get muddy, my reply and apparently my new motto is "It'll be fine, just wash it!" Lexie said "Oh, my pancreas!" "It'll be fine, just wash it!" Mom drove us, yes past the O'Neills' house, to Mrs. Robertson's. Apparently she'd promised everyone could come over and pick as much fresh fruit and vegetables as they wanted from her humongous garden. So we started with Zucchini, going ADD between the numerous plants, Banana Peppers, Jalepeno, Bell, Heritage Tomatoes, Sungold, Cherry, Cucumbers, Asian Pears, Apples, Basil, etc. Then we drove, back past the O'Neills', and off. We stopped at Starbucks, and mom got coffee (gross) then we stopped at the doughnut shop. They only had like 8 doughnuts! Yumm, they were good. Then we went home and I got on Facebook, of course I forgot to log out and mom put up some very nice stuff for me! I practiced piano, I've almost got my song, Edelweiss, down! Then we dropped the kids off at Grandma's and went to Legos, but we got nowhere fast as the votes got confused, and especially since Derek was in Mexico, but we're working, slowly but surely. I think once our project is chosen things will go incredibly faster. Anyway mom and dad were a little late ish in picking us up so Lex and I went over to the Fillmores', and Brenten and Brenna wanted to show us how to ride the motorcycles, but mom and dad arrived... Aw. We went home. The kids and dad had already decided to sleep outside tonight so they went out and started a fire. Alexis and I joined them for S'mores, I wearing my camo overcoat, I love this thing, it's so warm! It was awesome and the stars were amazing! Andrew and I are engaged in a friendly war, my 'Heya's evolved into this war. Everything ends in 'eya'. Heya, Halieya, Andreweya, No Wayeya. Annnnndddd that's it for now :)). Laterz

Amish Paradise and "The Rock Zone"

I am in a temporarily irreversible Weird Al Craze, (Let's call it WAC ok? lol). Thank you Weird Al for wacky songs constantly stuck in my head, thank you Brenten for getting me further into Weird Al, and thank you Zach for a slimy green pool and thank you Em for a funny quote to steal :)). So yesterday Lex and I took our music lessons and for once Mr. Johnson didn't go overtime on mine, so mom, since she was bored, drove us over to the O'Neills'. That was when I was forced into my bathing suit, and forced to realize that the bathroom was, in fact, empty, thus erasing my only excuse to stand idly in the hallway! So we ran out only to discover - GASP! - the pool was green and slimy looking. Zach's reply was only to look up from his computer and grin, "Oh really?!" So we played Monopoly instead. Yes in a half hour. And at the end we three generous peoples donated all of our money, property and 'Get Out of Jail Free' Cards to Free Parking! No, not because they were useless! Because we're generous like that! I might also mention that was the day I got my first paper cut in YEARS. Not at that game though of course... So from there we went to Legos. Lots of talking. Lots of laughing. If laughing burns more calories than running then I probably just dropped 10 pounds - take that liposuction! Nasty stuff. At the end Alexis, Brenten and I walked up and down the drive about three times, not intending to do so at the start of each walk... And Brenten tried to get out a dirt bike but apparently someone had removed all the keys, leaving him to come tearing up the drive after Lex and I and all the kids, who'd started walking without him. "You can't outrun me!" he shouted running up. "We weren't trying," I replied although Lex had been :)). I also warned him that he was having an asthma attack. He ignored my warning. This began a string of Weird Al verses from various songs. Good times! Mom picked us up, getting eaten alive by mosquitos at the end of the drive. After that we went out and got fries and sundaes! Yes I did watch Super Size Me. Yes it was horrifying. I have not eaten anything from MD's since watching it except ice cream and fries. That sounds pathetic. But oh well. I then proceeded to go home and chat very late. Yay for me. Hurray Hurrah. And no, today I was not too tired. In fact, today I finnished all my school plus a whole week's worth of Biology thank you very much! This morning I posted the voting area for Lego Project, and all day I've been checking for updates. No one updated or voted until this evening, when Andrew did. Andrew and I agreed he's officially in the "Rock" zone now. And since shortly after I voted I am now also in the "Rock" zone I guess :)). Then Zach got on and started talking Parkour. I ended up looking up videos to try and get a feel of what exactly it was. Then Zach showed me one cool one, and one full of Epic Fails (:P Brenten and Em!). That was comforting... Not. So I guess now I have to look into Parkour, my brain's not gonna leave it at that, I'm going to have to see if it's as 'totally rad, yo' as people have described and I've vaguely seen. (Here comes that feeling again - don't do it Halie! It'll be like Weird Al!) But I'm ignoring the feeling and... Yawn. Going to bed. I'll look into Parkour later :)). Laterz!

Biology Plans and Obecity

Today was pretty boring. The kids went to Gym with Grandma, and to go to Josh's Birthday Party. They were so excited! I, however, was doomed to the much less exciting fate of planning lessons for this semester. Hurray, Hurrah. We looked through the Biology lessons, have I ever mentioned Science isn't my favorite subject? Well some of those lessons were frightening! Grandpa came over for dinner. This evening we watched some documentary on obecity. Now THAT was a horror show. They weren't afraid to take you right in where they were doing liposuction on some poor 12 year old. I was about ready to retch! Liposuction? I would never do that, if anyone was wondering at all. Just thinking about it is sickening to me. Annnywaaayyy.. I wanted to talk to someone about the project but no one from Legos is online, so I'm just gonna get Derek's ideas off the page, which he asked me to relay in the meeting tomorrow. And we get to do music and chill with the O'Neills! Tomorrow's gonna be sick (There's that attempt at the word again. It's still not coming out easy. I'll have to try harder!) So.. What a boring blog entry! Guess I'll go play some app. More exciting tomorrow probably. Laterz

Aloe Vera, STROKE!s and Texas Sheet Cake

Apparently, over the past few days I've had no excuse not to blog, and a lot has been going on, so now, to make up for it I would like to write about everything that's happened.
Thursday my ES came and that was pretty boring. I had to do the Scantron, blech, so I'll skip that day because I can :)). Friday was Sundae park day first. I sat boringly on a park bench until I decided to stop being such a wimp and join Maddy. So Maddy and I hung out and ate ice cream with Claire, Alyssa, Tiffany and even a new girl, Courtney, for awhile. After awhile we had to go over to Maddy, Claire, Alyssa and Christian's for the Teen Party. We chilled for awhile, but decided to check the Meetup to see who was coming again. As my mom read the list off she came to "Andrew". "Andrew V or Andrew L?" I questioned. "Andrew V." "Oh Andrew V." And then the door popped open and in came Derek followed by none other than Andrew V... "Speaking of which..." said Lexie and I in unision, grinning. They never caught on to our joke :). Then came Brenten, Zach, Em, Kaleb, Simon, Tiffany, Courtney, and Trenton. It was totally sick (btw that's the new word I'm trying since so many others are overcopywrighted!). This was cause for much playing of Ninja. YES! But Trenton and Courtney forgot their bathing suits so I jumped in for them too. That was three times almost every game, actually, scratch that, every game! It made me feel a little lightheaded each time for about 3 minutes. There was lots of pizza, and quoting of Pirates of the Carribbean, and when we begged, gulping and fighting over ice water :)). As always it was too short no matter how long it was! Saturday I inconveniently didn't get online which was cause for Mrs. Fillmore to call us and ask if Lex and I wanted to go rafting with them, the O'Neills, and Andrew L. Of course we did! Is that even a legit question? We had to go get ready that second, "They're already on their way there!" Mom said. We frantically threw on bathing suits and shorts, grabbed our towels and water bottles and ran to the car. While waiting for the Fillmores and O'Neills to arrive we were channel surfing the radio and found a Mexican station. "Oh yeah!" I shouted. We all pretended to be rocking out and thoroughly enjoying this very gay music in spanish, and mom shouted "I-yi-yi-yi-yi-yi!" Of course that was the very moment Mrs. Fillmore pulled up... Not long after Mr. Fillmore and the O'Neills arrived. I jumped in with Breten, Andrew, Bryce, Mr. Fillmore and Brenna and Lex rode with Mrs. Fillmore, Zach and Em. The rafting trip was totally bomb! lots of tipping, rocking, singing off key and Brenten Lex and I are all officially, according to Zach, "Crazy and bad singers." Funny thing is people always seem to think I'm disliking what their doing at random moments when I'm only teasing them. It pretty much takes everything I've got to keep a straight unlaughing face! We tried this rope swing and I kept slipping off! My friends decided to name that one "The Halie". My signature move is a failed attempt! lol. The second swing we came to I was better at. I could actually hold on, that is. As usual Brenten did a lot of quoting on movies we'd never seen. As usual we quoted Pirates of the Carribbean and the Elf. Also there was, of course, plenty of Ninja! That game never gets old! So Mrs. Fillmore drove Lex, I and the O'Neills to meet my mom and Andrew and Brenten went with his dad to get some poor guy's car out of the mud! My mom met the O'Neills' dad and we all went home. This evening I made Texas Sheet Cake - YUM!! Lex and I want to plan an all day airsoft and games day on the 16 of October at the Ranch, and spend the weekend with our grandma Barbara. We're going to ask soon, I think she'll say yes. Most likely. I'm so excited! Laterz!

Norm

Today I woke up at 7 and made banana muffins for everyone. We started school at 9, as usual. I started on Geometry, which I know I keep annoyingly mentioning, but it's so easy! It's quick becoming my favorite subject.... After Language. Days are pretty laid back when school is so simple. Math, Spanish, Science. Anyway so I praticed some music and stared at the new letter on the fridge door from People to People, telling us the date of my information meeting to find out about going to Australia Summer 2011. It's on Saturday. I'm overly excited. I made dinner, quiche. Mushrooms, and cheese and buttery crust. It was soooo good! And my mom made some fried green beans with parmisian. Those things are so delicious and we haven't had them in forever! After dinner I practiced playing Edelweiss (among other songs) on the piano and remembered that the O'Neills weren't home on Tueday. Waa. I also wondered what exactly we forgot over there that I'm told by Em was put out on the front porch with a 'Free' sign. I've also been warned by Zach that if it was then it's his now... And so I ended another day with late night researching for Lego Club. And tonight I even got to talk to Zach and Emily! The damp weather (at least that's what I'm assuming it is, I have to blame something okay!) brought on swarms of mosquitos, which, at this moment are swarming me and probably giving me some disease I did not have before and had not yet acquired from my apparent hobby of licking a certain arsenic porch. Anyway I'm tired, I've done adequate researching, my ES is coming tomorrow and I even learned a new word: immunitoxicity, which means harmful to your immune system. So, because of all these reasons, I think I have good enough excuse to go to bed now. Good night and (yawn) Laterzzzzzzzzz

First Day of School

Today was our first day of school. Mom was, as usual, and as she has the best reasoning in the world to be, nervous and anxious. But the kids did pretty well. And as for me, Geometry is so simple, I love it! Algebra is a brain wracker, but Geometry is so easy, black and white. Of course Derek is my only friend I've asked so far who actually agrees with me on that point, everyone else loves Algebra and hates Geometry, but if nothing else Algebra is so overrated :)). I did some spanish, and learned that 'doce', spanish for two, of course, is spelled exactly the same way as 'doce' spanish for 12, they are pronounced differently though. I slept through every music lesson but my own, since the O'Neills weren't home... :( We'll see them soon though. Very soon hopefully. I passed a few songs at music. I'm tired, more later k? Laterz

Airsoft!!

Today we woke up, of course, at the O'Neills' house. Lex and I were sprawled out on Em's bed and Emily was on Jeni's where we'd crashed the night before. We actually accidentally left her closet lights on all night long! Anway Lexie and Emily decided Zach, who was still sleeping, was in for another rude awakening. They woke him up knocking on his bedroom windows from the outside! We hung out, once again reading my Guiness book and talking. We ate cereal (and toast in Lexie's case) for breakfast. Then we finally had our rematch tiebreaker of Nuts. Lexie and Emily decided to split up their team and Lex used a pack of Care Bears cards which were the only other ones available, so it was Zach and I vs. Lex vs. Emily. Mrs. O'Neill made us sandwiches. Lots of sandwiches! Em. Zach and I won, by that time we it was just about time for people to start arriving for airsoft. Lex and I struggled into our camo gear, pants, jackets, overjackets, boots, all that great stuff. Then everyone started getting there. I did unusually well the first game, getting Zach, Kaleb, and Taylor! After that we split up into all kinds of different teams. It was super hot! It was super fun! We ran to the back to go swimming when we realized we had about 20 left! But Lex and I got about 3 min. swimming before mom got there lol! Anyways today was totally bomb! Even if I'm sore now.... I even got to try spaghetti tacos for dinner! Idea courtesy of iCarly... Laterz!

Epic Day, Epic Friends, Epic Times

Today was one of those days that it's so long and jam-packed full of fun stuff that you can't believe it was only one day instead of several. We started off by going to park day, it was an unusually late one and way more teens than usual showed. Brenten, Taylor, Andrew, Savannah, and a few newbies, Hannah, Maddy, Claire and Christian. We all met up and became friends fast, Maddy, Claire and Christian had two plastic bats and a whiffle ball in their car so we played whiffle ball, which apparently is exactly like baseball except with a whiffle ball. It was hot and we were all sweating and the teams split evenly went back and forth crushing each other until the end where the score was actually undetermined. The teams were: Me, Maddy, Claire, Christian and Hannah vs. Brenten, Taylor, Lexie, Savannah and Andrew. It was crazy fun and insanely hot, we were all sweating and fighting for spots in the shade. Of course home was a big shady tree so we always wanted that much more to be up to bat. Anyway we finished gulping down any water in sight and looking through my Guinness book of World Records. Then Andrew, Lex, Robynn and I went home with the Fillmores for Lego Club. Derek was already there hot hot hot in the pool house out back. We set to work joking and building, no telling which more so and finally have just about finished off our obstacle course. It's hilarious, the theme is 'Body Forward' so there's a syringe on wheels, a leg in a cast, a heart, and countless other interesting parts. Andrew and I, who were previously teamed to build a brain connected to a door (for competition's sake) built lots of other things including a stretcher.... We had to leave, as usual, much too soon and much too late. Mom picked us up and drove us over to the O'Neills'. We ate pizza, watched AFV and chilled for awhile then went out to the pool. Lex, Em, and I swam while Zach tested out his airsoft gun. Eventually he made his way over, still fully clothed and was promptly soaked by Alexis and Em. Then, Lexie proceeded to take the key from the locked fence surrounding the pool and hide it... in several places. Originally from Zach, but eventually we were all fighting for our passage out. We went in and Em, Lex and I played Imaginiff. They asked Zach if he wanted to play but apparently he was still searching for a certain pair of lost glasses..... Later on however, probably mainly afraid of what was being said about him he decided to join our game. We're still not sure if he actually found his glasses. Many funny things were decided. If Derek were something to sit on he'd be an electric chair voted unanimously! If I were an emotion I'd be hate, which is agreeably better than lust.. If Brenten were on a plane and the pilot died suddenly he'd offer to land the plane ( we agreed after a small prayer maybe..). Anyways we ended up just sitting, flipping through my Guinness book, watching Pirates of the Caribbean, eating some popcorn Lex and Em decided to pop, just reading the Imaginiff cards and voting on the results on various people, and laughing... A LOT. Anyways tomorrow's going to be super fun. Hopefully it will include a tiebreaker rematch of Nuts aside from the expected airsoft and swim. Plus I can't wait to see the looks on everyone's faces when they realize Lex and I finally got our camo!! And it's the stuff the military uses, courtesy of good old Grandpa Butch, retired Marine. New Post.. I'm Bored... Can't Wait for Tomorrow!

I'm so bored today! I've spent most of the day wishing it was tomorrow, and regrettably I got a nice early ish start to that thanks to Lex. She turned the light off in our bedroom early last night, at about 9 and so I woke up unable to sleep with too much energy at about 7 this morning. So I sat up and read this book. Every morning when I wake up I look at my night stand and remember that I (once again ) forgot to return my friend Zach's book, "Airborn". How many times can one person forget?? I'll just have to remember tomorrow when I see him. Anyway I was so bored today. I made dinner, just simple, pasta, but it occupied some time which was good. I've pretty much spent the entire day daydreaming of Lego Club, and going to my friends' house tomorrow and a certain airsoft game we have planned for Saturday. And as I've been reminded there's a rematch tiebreaker that seems to be evading mine, Lexie's and our friends Emily and Zachs' grasp at this game Zach and Em showed us called 'Nuts'. My whole family is addicted to it now, we had to buy two new packs of cards so we could all play. But I am very excited just at the prospect of leaving the house tomorrow. And not for shopping... It was nice to get some new clothes yesterday, but I was about ready to drop after one store whereas my mom and grandma seemed unfazed by the walking and shopping. The kids decided to throw a concert tonight and passed out misspelled invitations, grinning hopefully. We ate these ice cream sandwiches called '600 Pound Gorillas', it was just two chocolate chip cookies on ice cream. They were pretty good. But that's about it - I still can't wait for tomorrow!!
